News for the Week of June 27, 2008

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Thank you for helping to make last week’s Personal Protection Seminar such a success. It was a pleasure to watch so many of our students and their families participating at a high level. Handouts from the seminar are still available…ask your Instructors!

This week is Buddy Week in all Junior Classes: Parents, please pick up a permission slip from us here at school. Your child can bring as many friends as they like to their classes this week!

Lastly, a reminder that we will be closed for Independence Day from July 4th through July 11th. We will reopen on July 14th with our regular schedule.

  • Testimonials

Though I had not trained in any form of wrestling or martial art preceding my enrollment at Brooklyn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, I have had several eye-opening conversations with practitioners of the myriad other martial arts that are available for study. In general, I have come away with a profound appreciation of the intellectual and humane approach to the training and practice of the techniques we are learning in class.

I feel that I am a person of compassion and empathy, and I consider myself very lucky to know that I am afforded a choice if I am ever in a position in which I must use the highly effective techniques I have learned in class to not hurt my opponent and walk away.
